Yes, Sally was played. But the very reason it worked was that she was a good cop with strong professional ethics. It didn’t help that she didn’t like Sherlock on a personal level, but I like to think that even if she did, the end result would’ve been the same. It might’ve taken more time, more evidence, but she would’ve gotten there.
Because she is a good cop, and she believes in facts and evidence.
