My dad treats Easter like its the fucking Olympics. He gets this sick enjoyment from watching us trying to find our baskets that literally could be ANYWHERE. Last year mine was suspended in air inside our fireplace. 2 years ago my brother had to scale the side of a tree to get his basket down. I want to do this, so want to do this, but at the heart of it lies uncertainty and utter fear.

I know I’m always bad at taking initiatives - which might explain why i throw myself into doing certain things on purpose. I’ve probably done more this year than most direct-entry third year students. But sometimes, I hit a brick wall, and panic.

Going a route so unprecedented that my parents don’t even understand my desired job ambit, is one of those brick walls.
